Caribou

Caribou is a fictional outdoor goods chain of stores that appears in the manga and anime. The featured stores in the anime, in Minobu and Fujiyoshida, are based on real stores, but some aspects are changed to be consistent within the anime.

In volume 14, Motosu High School freshman Ema Mizunami becomes their latest recruit, working at the Minobu branch.

Real-life equivalents

• The Minobu store featured in Season 1's episode (#8) "Exams, Caribou, Steamed Buns, Yum!" and Season 2's episode (#4) "What Are You Buying With Your Temp Job Money?" is patterned after SWEN, in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. In real life, there isn't such an outdoor store located near Minobu Station. The nearest is Outings Products Elk in Kofu.

  • In the corresponding episode 8 of the Yuru CampΔ TV drama, the store is called "Elk" similar to the name of the actual store (Outings Products Elk) it is supposed to portray as mentioned above and is actually set in Kofu.
• The Fujiyoshida store visited on the way to Lake Yamanaka featured in Season 2's episode (#5) "Caribou-kun and Lake Yamanaka" is based on Montbell (モンベル 富士吉田店) in Fujiyoshida.
