Lake Motosu (本栖湖, Motosu-ko) is a lake about 15 km northwest of Mount Fuji. It is featured several times in Yuru CampΔ. It is one of the five Fuji Lakes.
Lake Motosu is where Rin went camping in Mount Fuji and Curry Noodles (Season 1, Episode 1) of the anime. She and Nadeshiko returned there in Mount Fuji and the Laid-Back Camp Girls (Season 1, Episode 12). In Curry Noodles Are the Best Travel Companion (Season 2, Episode 1) a younger Rin had her first camping experience there.
They stayed at Kōan Campsite (浩庵キャンプ場, Kōankyanpujō).[1] It's a lakeside campground, where visitors set up right by the edge of the water.

The view from here of Mount Fuji is on Series E (issued from 2004-2024)[2] of the Japanese 1000-yen note. In 2024 it is replaced with The Great Wave off Kanagawa. It was previously on Series D of the 5000 yen note, from 1984-2004.
The tunnel that Rin biked through is Nakanokura Tunnel (中之倉トンネル, Nakanokura ton'neru) on Route 300. It is about 500m long, ending right at the campground. The winding road up the mountain from the village of Ichinose is about 14 km, climbing 650m in elevation (from 264m at the river to 912m at the lake).
