Season 2 of Yuru CampΔ (ゆるキャンΔ, also known as "Laid-Back Camp") was announced on October 6, 2018[3] with a premiere date of January 7th, 2021[1][4] and key visuals provided on March 23, 2020.[5]

In Japan, there was a special pre-screening of the first episode on November 29, 2020, at Tokyo's Marunouchi Piccadilly (Shochiku Multiplex Theatres). The main voice cast was in attendance, and 36 theaters across Japan livestreamed both the cast appearance and the premiere.[6]

Both singers from Season 1 return for Season 2, the opening theme song, Seize The Day, performed by Asaka and the ending theme song, Haru no Tonari (はるのとなり; Next to Spring), performed by Eri Sasaki.[7] Both songs will be released as singles for their respective artists on January 27, 2021.[8]

Whereas the first season focused almost exclusively on Yamanashi prefecture, season two will also feature parts of Shizuoka prefecture, including places in the coastal city of Hamamatsu.[9]

On January 23, 2024, Crunchyroll announced an English dub for Season 2 with cast and crew info.[10]

Promotional events[]

  • A promotion for Season 2, called "I'm in Yamanashi on Weekends. Yuru Campaign", was set up for the fall of 2020. It has a number of fan events including a stamp rally.
  • A Yuru CampΔ x Hello Kitty (『ゆるキャンΔ』×『ハローキティ』) is a crossover event where Hello Kitty will guide viewers through Yuru CampΔ locations in Yamanashi prefecture.[11]
  • A Yuru CampΔ x Hachinai (『ゆるキャン』×『ハチナイ』) is a crossover event that will happen in the smartphone game for Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine in late November 2020.[12]
  • "Yuru CampΔ SEASON2 ~ Iwata / Hamamatsu ~", a November 29, 2020 pre-screening event[13] featuring main character seiyuus and singers of OP and ED theme songs at Tokyo's Marunouchi Piccadilly (Shochiku Multiplex Theatres) was sold out,[6][14][15] but general tickets for live viewing at 36 movie theaters nationwide started on Saturday, November 14, 2020.[14]
  • Yuru CampΔ SEASON2 food truck, a traveling food truck themed for Season 2 also known as a "kitchen car" was announced on December 17, 2020 to start traveling from Osaka on December 20 and arriving in Tokyo on December 26 for an expected opening on January 17, 2021 at the Aeon Amagasaki store.[16] Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, it was announced on January 12, 2021 that the opening will be indefinitely postponed.[17] However, on February 19, 2021, it was announced that the food truck would re-open starting March 14, 2021 at the same store in the original plan andvisit other locations through at least March 28, 2021.[18]
  • The Season 2 soundtrack was released on March 31, 2021.[19] The OST is on the MAGES. label. The score is by Akiyuki Tateyama, who was also the composer for Season 1. The 2-CD set includes several short audio dramas by Mutsumi Ito, writer of several episodes for season 1 and 2.
  • "Yuru CampΔ" x AR SQUARE collaboration "Nadeshiko Solo Campaign" is a contest using the AR SQUARE app to qualify for a chance to receive a Season 2 Blu-ray Box signed by Yumiri Hanamori, the seiyuu of Nadeshiko Kagamihara.[20] Besides the app, entrants need live in Japan and have a Twitter account that does not change during the contest period. The contest runs from February 19, 2021 (Friday) 12:00 AM to March 3, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:59 PM.
  • "Yuru Camp △" Special Event STAY △ TENT (『ゆるキャン△』スペシャルイベント STAY△TENT) was announced on March 18, 2021[21] and held at the Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall (Yūrakuchō district, Chiyoda City, Tokyo) on April 11, 2021 (Sunday). Tickets were announced to go on sale on April 9, 2021.[22]
  • Hamamatsu City "Yuru CampΔ" Map was created by the city to introduce places featured in Season 2.[23]
  • Yuru CampΔ Exhibition displays valuable animation original images, setting materials, scene cuts, etc. in Tokyo from April 10 - 18 and Shizuoka from April 29 - May 9, 2021.[24]
  • Uta CampΔ (『うたキャン△』) is a sales event held at Volks Hobby Heaven 2 in Akihabara[25] from June 19, 2021 to July 18, 2021. It follows a series of events each year starting in 2018: "Heya Camp△" (『へやキャン△』 2018), "Niwa Camp" (『にわキャン△』 2019), and Guru Camp" (『ぐるキャン△』 2020).[26]
  • "Yuru CampΔ" x Shizuoka Stamp Rally started on November 12, 2021 and will run to January 10, 2022.[27]
  • On May 16, 2022, the JR Tokai Tours Yuru CampΔ Shizuoka Sightseeing Bus[28] was announced with sales starting that day.[29] Two travel periods have been made available through December 11, 2022.
    • Travel period #1: May 23, 2022 (Monday) to June 29, 2022 (Wednesday)[30]
    • Travel period #2: November 27, 2022 (Sunday) to December 11, 2022 (Sunday)[31]
  • "Yuru CampΔ" Dramatic Puzzle Solving Game: Two Treasure Maps and a Trip Down Memory Lane[32] was announced June 29, 2022 as a collaboration with Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures, as well as JR Central.[33]
    • Travel period: July 1, 2022 (Friday) to August 31, 2022 (Wednesday)[34]

Rebroadcasts[]

On January 22, 2022, ABEMA TV (video streaming service) announced it would do a marathon, one-day rebroadcast of Yuru CampΔ Season 2 on January 24 (starting 4:30 pm).[35]

On March 24, 2022, it was announced that Season 2 would be rebroadcast in preparation for the upcoming movie on TOKYO MX, BS11, and Hokkaido Television.[36]

On September 1, 2023, it was announced that Season 2 would be rebroadcast later in the month on BS NTV September 26, 2023 (Tuesday) at 24:30 (aka 12:30 AM Spetember 27) and continue on Tuesday of following weeks.[37] The reason is not clear, but it could be in preparation for the release of Season 3 in 2024.

Rin remembers her first solo camping experience as Nadeshiko remembers moving to Yamanashi and leaving her best friend Ayano. As the year end nears, the Outdoor Activities Club plans more activities and bring along Aoi's younger sister Akari. Rin continues her long planned solo camping trip through Shizuoka while Nadeshiko goes to visit her grandmother in Hamamatsu for the New Year's holiday where she meets Ayano. As the year opens, the girls all look for temp jobs and then more club camping around Lake Yamanaka with visiting a Caribou store. The club plans a long trip to Izu peninsula in Shizuoka with Toba-sensei and Akari while Rin tags along on her scooter.
