"The Izu Camp Trip Begins!" is the tenth episode of season two of Yuru CampΔ.

Synopsis from the official anime site[]

Aoi's younger sister Akari joined the Outclub members and they left for Izu. They headed to the campsite while sampling local gourmet foods and visiting geospots, but discovered that they couldn't use the campsite they had planned.[2]

Plot synopsis[]

The Izu Peninsula camp begins. The Outclub plus Ena and Akari ride in Toba-sensei’s borrowed van. Shortly into the drive, Nadeshiko falls asleep. She misses out when the group stops for wasabi ice cream. After going down the spiral bridge they run into slow traffic.

Meanwhile, Rin is travelling on her scooter. She stops at Cape Ose, and admires the view of the sea. She feeds the carp in the pond which is at the end of the cape. Later she stops to visit Ryugu Sea Cave. Arriving in Shimoda, she phones the others, finding out that they are stuck in traffic. Rin warms herself in the footbath while she waits. When the van arrives, the Inuyama girls prank Nadeshiko, by telling her a tall tale about how she has slept for days, all through the camping trip. After lunch, they buy dinner supplies. Then they go to Cape Tsumeki, where Toba-sensei used to camp with her family. The attendant tells them that camping has been prohibited for several years. While the girls explore the cape, Toba-sensei seeks another campsite. Someone suggests phoning Iida-san, who finds them a place to camp. It’s on the other side of the peninsula, so they have to reschedule their sightseeing stops.

They drive to another geosite at the Hosono Highlands. Akari challenges Nadeshiko for a race to the top of the hill, and Chiaki joins them. The others take a leisurely stroll to get there, and shortly find Chiaki winded and slumped on the path.

Notes & Trivia[]

The Izu Peninsula is a Global Geopark. This is a UNESCO designation similar to their designations for a World Heritage site and a biosphere reserve. A geopark is a region with geological features and formations of international significance. These formations are noted as geosites within the geopark. For their trip to Izu, the Outclub selects a number of geosites to visit. The show refers to them as a 'geosite', or a 'geospot'. The geopark English website calls them a 'geosite', or less frequently, a 'geopoint'.[5]

The Izu Peninsula Geopark slogan is, “Volcanic gifts from the south”.

They visit these geosites in this episode
