True Facts: Kachikachi Mountain (Shinsetsu・Kachikachiyama, 真説・カチカチ山) is the fifth episode of the Heya CampΔ anime.
Plot synopsis[]
Returning to Kawaguchi Lake (see Episode 3, Mad Dash! Kawaguchi Lake Rally), Nadeshiko, Chiaki, and Aoi ride the gondola lift to the viewpoint at Tenjō-Yama, which is their stop in the Yamanashi Kids' Stamp Rally. The story of Kachi-Kachi Mountain originated from here and they imagine themselves as the racoon dog (tanuki), rabbit, and turtle.
Reaching the top they have a vantage point of both the mountain and Kawaguchi lake.
Nadeshiko asks two girls passing to take a photo of them before they eat. They remark that there is no turtle in the display of the raccoon dog and rabbit.

Notes & Trivia[]
- In the folk tale of the raccoon dog and the rabbit, there is no turtle. Nadeshiko has mixed up the story with the fable of the tortoise and the hare. What's more, they don't live happily ever after. After getting severely burned when its pack is set on fire, the raccoon dog drowns when the mud boat dissolves. It's no wonder the other riders in the gondola look confused since Nadeshiko is changing the story so much.
- The location of the ropeway to the scenic observation point is Mount Tenjō. The folk tale which takes place there is generally known as the story of Kachi-Kachi Mountain.
